"You'll have to show me sometime." Jason replied to Jayde before looking to Kaiyo and saying. "Then you stay out of my beach and I'll stay out of your snow. Alright, small fry?"
[NEW]
Small fry? Kaiyo's head turned slightly to one side in confusion as she suddenly sparked interest. She wasn't aware of what the term meant. "I am a Glacet. I AM NOT A SMALL FISHY!" Kaiyo said loudly, hoping to get her point across. "I'm more of a medium sized Tuna..." she added with a slight smirk.
"I'd say you're more like a cold shrimp." Jason replied before looking back to Jayde, hoping the little blue child would go away.
Kaiyo whimpered slightly as if like a hurt animal. "I'm not a shrimp... I'm a fully grown Glacet" she ducked down into the hole of snow and curled up happily. "I'll be in here if you Humans wish to be nice".
"I will," Jayde said quietly. "For now, do you want to go for a sleigh ride or go into the lodge?"
Jason turned his attention back to Jayde, and answered. "A sleigh ride would be nice. If you are okay with us being alone in one."
"I can always kick you out," she teased, signaling to a carriage driver. He pulled up in an open carriage pulled by two black horses. A thick quilt sat on the back seat to keep the riders warm.
"You're right." Jason replied quickly. "That would prompt me to go back to my sand and surf. Wait... maybe I should rethink this sleigh ride." He looked at her with a pondering face before smirking. "I'm kidding." He said as he gesture to the sleigh. "Step on up."
She moved the blanket aside and pulled herself into the sleigh, moving over so there was room for Jason to sit beside her.
Jason got onto the sleigh and sat down next to her. He looked over and smiled at her, tempted to put his arm around her, before looking to the carriage driver and nodding his head, prompting him to go, before looking back to Jayde. "Alright... its not half bad. Still cold."
She spread out the blanket so it covered both their laps. "Better?" she asked.
"Its getting there." Jason smiled, replying softly.
She raised an eyebrow. "What else would you like?"
Jason looked back, to see if they were far enough from the main group, before putting his arm around her shoulder and bringing her close. "This works, if its okay."
"Yes, this is definitely better," she said, leaning against him. The carriage went down the road and around a pond before slowly making its way back. While they were rounding the pond, she reached up and kissed Jason on the cheek.
Élan arrived dressed for the cold weather, although she did so in style wearing a pair of warm slightly insulated slacks, blouse and a thick wool overcoat, all cut to accent her curvaceous figure. Walking through the snow, she noticed the hole near the entrance to the lodge and frowned, pausing as the science officer in her took over for a brief moment. After the moment passed, she shrugged. "I didn't know there were planets with snow gophers," she said quietly, thinking no-one else was around.
Kaiyo's head popped out of the hole and she let out a cute yawn. "What is a gopher of snow?" She asked curiously.
"Eep!" Élan squeaked as Kaiyo suddenly appeared from the hole in the snow. In the same moment, she muttered "Uh-oh" under her breath, knowing that she would have to figure out a way to explain gophers. "Well, a gopher is a small ground burrowing creature on Earth. Other planets have similar creatures. Most of the time, they burrow in dirt, but clearly the Hyperion has one that burrows in the snow."
Kaiyo tilted her head the other way. "I think I understand. Although Glacet pups will usually dig like this when seperated from the Setai" she explained. "In Glacetti tradition a snow hole would be a safe place to hide and pups could be raised in them too" she paused. "However I am wearing garments, Glacets in snow holes do not. But Federation rules require I am clothed"
Élan shook her head and smiled. "So, how about we go inside and wait for the others?" she asked.
"I will have to widen my hole for you to enter" Kaito said with a smile. "But I cannot accomodate multiple Humans. I am not a gopher of the snow..."
By the time the carriage came into view, Jason and Jayde were sitting a respectable space apart.
The carriage stopped and Jayde climbed down. "Thank you," she said to the carriage driver and to Jason.
Jason smiled, allowing a small sigh to escape his lips, before stepping down from the carriage and nodding to the driver. He soon placed his hands behind his back and walked up alongside Jayde. With his eyes forward, and a smile still on his face, he cleared his throat and said. "So... Do you regret not taking the opportunity to kick me out of the carriages before we left?
She thought that her response on the carriage ride was answer enough. "No, but there's plenty of snow if I change my mind." she asked lightly, a half smile playing around the corners of her mouth.
