Mission: Ghost of a Chance: Epilogue
Location: Holodeck

ON

Jayde decided that after recent events, the crew needed to relax, and they needed to get to know their new commanding officer, so she decided to host a social gathering on the holodeck. Uniforms were banned and everyone, department heads and assistants alike, was to come ready to relax and have some fun.

Since she wanted a change of scenery, she decided on a ski lodge in the alps, complete with snow-skiing, sleigh rides, and a large fire with plenty of hot cocoa, warm bread, and chili. There were also other items to choose from, and a wide variety of desserts. She included a well-stocked bar and had some the lounge crew on hand to keep the food and drinks stocked.

Since it was her idea, she dressed in a pair of black ski pants and a red turtleneck. She wasn't sure if she'd go outside or not, but it was always good to dress the part.

Evelyn had heard of the holodeck gathering and having heard that uniforms had been banned from the gathering she had dressed in a pair of black slacks, knee high boots and a lightweight dark grey sweater. Arriving, she was slightly unprepared for the holodeck temperature to reflect the setting and quickly made her way into the lodge. "You certainly pay attention to every detail, I'll give you that," she told Commander Jayde as she entered the lodge.

Jayde bowed. "The temperature is important to the setting. I am glad you could make it, captain."

Jason walked down the corridor, headed toward the holodeck. He had on long thick pants and snow boots, with a red turtleneck, black winter coat, and red knit cap. He hated cold. Jason was raised in the tropics and was used to the warm, to hot, weather. Cold didn't suit him, but here he was. Wrapped up in warm clothes and walking into the holodeck with snow and more damned cold. As the stepped toward the doors, they opened, allowing some of the cold to brush passed him. Jason stopped, before letting out a groan, and continuing forward as he whispered. "I'd kill for a beach and board right now."

Jayde turned to see who entered the holodeck. When she saw Jason and the expression on his face, she smiled. "It is good of you to come."

"Are you kidding?" Jason replied, smiling a bit, before adding. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." He added a bit of a chuckle as he approached her. Of course he didn't enjoy himself, but he wasn't here for the snow or cold. He was here for a different reason all together.

"There's a fire in the lodge. It will be warmer there," she said.

"What?!" Jason replied with a smirk. "Me? Cold? No. I'm fine. Just takes a bit of adjusting. That's all."

"Indeed," she said, not believing him. "The captain is in the lodge. There is snow skiing and sleigh rides for those who are interested."

"All that's missing is a fat guy in a red suit." Jason replied quickly with a smile.

"This is not a Christmas party," she said humorously. "Merely a winter one."

"It was a joke, Jayde." He smirked, laughing lightly, before nodding his head. "It's a nice program. It's not what I am used to but it is nice." Jason looked around before looking into her eyes and adding. "It already has the best view from where I am standing." He paused for a moment before pointing off to the side. "The mountains... very nice." He then looked back at her and smile before laughing out loud.

"Why do you laugh?" she asked, looking up at him.

Jason shook his head slightly, looking away. "Forget it."

Something dashed by them at a very quick speed. The sudden dash of white, blue, and starfleet grey and black dived head first into one of the nearby snow drifts and disappeared down the newly formed hole.

TAG anyone?

A few seconds later, a snow covered Kaiyo, the ship's resident Glacet popped her head out. She had snow in her hair, and her eyes were sparkling brighter blue than normal. In this snowy cold environment she was in her element coming from an ice planet. She peeped out as she rested her head on the packed snow. "This is my sort of thing" she said with a audible sigh of relief, her ears happily flapping in the slight breeze. "Comfortable..." she yawned as she relaxed in her little snow hole.

Jayde couldn't help laughing. She smiled up at Jason. "See? Some people like the cold," she teased.

"Some people weren't born on a tropical island where cold was extremely rare." Jason shot back with a smirk.

"True," she replied blithely. "I was born somewhere in between. No beaches, and no snow where I grew up." Although there was little time for fun back then, either.

"I remember." Jason replied before commenting. "I also remember you took to the beach pretty quickly when I introduced you to it. I even taught you a few things due to it."

"I spend more time in the woods now," she replied quietly. "I have not been to a beach in a v ery long time." Except for the holodeck, not since she was with the Maquis. And Jason.

Jason nodded his head and smirked before saying. "That's unfortunate. I do miss seeing that bathing suit."

She chuckled. "Mountain lakes have their own advantages."

Kaiyo looked up curiously from her little snow hole. "Beaches are the worst possible... what was your term... hades for a Glacet" she said sleepily resting her head back down on the snow and starting to purr slightly.

"You'll have to show me sometime." Jason replied to Jayde before looking to Kaiyo and saying. "Then you stay out of my beach and I'll stay out of your snow. Alright, small fry?"
