| Physical Description | Glacets are a very different type of Humanoid species. They look like Humans apart from large blue furry ears on their heads and a large tail. They also have different colours of blue hair and blue eyes. Glacets are also considerably smaller in height and weight than Humans. Their arms and legs are very thin, lightweight yet have strong evolved muscles to move quickly. Their skin is pale, but can become darker or more coloured during long exposure to sunlight. Kaiyo is a "Prime Glacet" meaning she was born in the Southern Hemisphere on her home planet Glayos. Due to this she usually wears a blue style cropped jacket, shorts and blue gloves. Her Starfleet uniform is adapted so that her abdomen is visible as per the Glacet culture for females. Also Kaiyo wears a traditional Ear Charm on her right ear, which marks what clan she is born from and which number of sister she is. Her Starfleet uniform has been modified to stick to her culture and cuts off just below her ribcage to expose her lower stomach. Instead of a standard grey and black tunic, it has been modified to be more of a jacket style design instead but also does not come below her ribcage She also wears three quarter length trousers as well (also modified) as she finds these more comfortable. |

| General Overview | Glacet Culture/Species Overview Glacets evolved on the planet Glayos several million years ago. Glayos is the fifth planet from their sun, therefore the majority of the planet is covered with ice and freezing water much like Andoria. Glayos has two small continents in which the Glacets have lived. In water to land ratio, the planet is 97% Ocean and 3% land. The two continents were once seperate Glacet cultures. But over thousands of years of war, cross breeding and evolution have assimilated each other into their own individual culture. Male Glacets are usually taller and stronger than females and are usually built for combat and are commonly known as “Alpha Males”. Glacet Alpha Males usually have upto six mates, each which can birth several children, upto six pregnancies. This is called a Setai, or "Family Unit". One male Glacet will have six Female Glacet’s in a Setai. The female in a Setai will take turns, one per year to reproduce, entitling in a six year reproduction cycle between the Setai. Each Female is expected to bear six children, or six pregnancies if the result is twins or more. However twins and triplets in Glacets is an uncommon occurrence. A Setai is determined in several generations. The first generation with the Alpha Male being complete only when all Thirty Six children are born, with the Second being complete when any females or males of the Alpha Male reproduce with their Setai after coming of age, and so on. Older Setai groups may have several hundred generations within them as Glacets have a long life expectancy, that of roughly two hundred Standard Earth Years. However, for Females Thirty Six of those Years will comprise of taking turns to bear the Alpha Males children. Females by tradition dating back thousands of years wear clothing that reveals the lower abdomen. This goes back to early Glacet civilization and males being able to sense through touch when one of their female has been successfully impregnated. Only when one of the Females has successfully given birth to another child for the Setai will the Alpha Male attempt an impregnation of another mate. However Glacets also have a very high fertilisation chance, that being 98.6%. Glacets have a very sensitive touch and can feel vibrations and life by touch. An example is that Glacets can feel running blood in veins by simply touching ones arm. Glacets also naturally mature quickly. By the age of Four standard Earth Years they are considered an adult. However breeding is not permitted for any Glacet under the age of Nine years. This is to enable female Glacets to gain a step in their career before joining a Setai of a Male and birthing children. A Glacet pregnancy usually lasts 1 Standard Earth Year. Female Glacets wear a small ear charm which each has a different pattern. This is to symbol which Setai they belong to, and those without a charm are available to be processed into a Males Setai. Glacets have ventured into space only very recently. Their vessels have achieved only Warp Four by Federation Standards. However they were accepted into the United Federation of Planets in the year 2382. The Glacets are very good at Science, especially ocean sciences and astronomy. This is because they are very attached towards the Glayos oceans and used stars to navigate before technology. Once Glacets made it into space, they became very curious about the universe around them. On the invention of their own Warp Drive system, called Sutaraito Drive, they eventually discovered a Federation Starship. The Sutaraito Drive works by creating a wave of light energy behind the vessel and surfing it in a controlled way. Kaiyo Kaiyo is the first Glacet female to leave the planet Glayos and to join Starfleet. This was because her Setai, Kaiso wanted her to carry on with her curiosity about Science. Kaiso had yet to mate with Kaiyo because he was more interested in her succeeding in her life and career than her carrying his offspring. Therefore Kaiyo is a very determined young woman and likes to stride for success. She is very adament that she needs to get things done and like most Females is intelligent and a fast thinker. |

| Ambitions | Kaiyo is currently ambitious towards pursing a career in Starfleet and to explore more about the Galaxy. She see's herself as an ambassador to the Glacet people and wants to learn more from Starfleet for her people's best interests. She also respects her culture and knows that she may have to return home to mate with Kaiso and bear children. However she plans to only be on Glayos for a short time for the ritual before carrying on with her duties, pregnant or not. |

| Personal History | Glacet History Glayos was once home to the original Glacets. A form of Ice Monkey, which originally lived in the large crystal ice tree's on the two continents. As Glacets evolved they became more like Humans, losing their fur to be able to swim better in the water. Without fur and just bare Skin Glacets became brilliant swimmers, using their tails as rudders and catching fish much like a penguin. Over Millions of years Glacets evolved to be standing upright all the time in order to hunt for food, forage. They soon became the dominant species on Glayos and their civilization began. The Glacets were happy with the way things were for over three thousand years, living in crystal constructed houses and diving for fish. However that changed when a meteor shower that only happens every sixteen thousand years filled the sky. It was said that Glacets looked up at the lights and thought that they were large flying fish from their gods, therefore began their conquest of science and the planet around them. Two Civilizations of Glacets grew on Glayos. Those from the south, calling themselves "Prime Glacets" and those from the North calling themselves "Imperial Glacets". These two islands, became countries and empires. Even though the majority of the planet was water, they still went to war over territory. Eventually after a similar stage to Earth's World War One, yet several hundred years before Earths WW1 the Glacets united themselves as once species. From then hundreds of years of interracial breeding and culture has created the new Glacets, which are known as the "Second Generation". Those Glacets is the culture today. They are driven to science, and for many years had the capability to enter into space. However the Glacets waited over two hundred years to venture into space in order to fully explore Glayos first. Therefore Glacets became very well versed in Natural sciences, especially Marine and Ocean Sciences. The Glacets eventually achieved warp travel in the year 2376 and made First Contact with the Federation in 2377. After several years, the Glacets were accepted into the Federation is 2382 and since then the Technology and Science of the Federation has helped the Glacets achieve more scientific breakthrough. Kaiyo Kaiyo was born in Vestara on prime continent. From an early age she was fascinated by science and focused on it during her studies and schooling. On completion of her schooling at age Four Earth Years she took on the role of a Junior Scientist Apprentice at Glayos's centre for Astronomical Sciences. This is where she began her lifelong fascination with Astronomical Sciences. Kaiyo was once of the Science Officers who assisted in the perfection of the Sutaraito Drive after several field tests. By the time she was Nine years old she had been promoted to "General Science Officer" at the institute. With her career well under way, she decided that it was time to find a Setai to join now that she was of age. She was eventually processed by a young male starting his own Setai called Kaiso. Kaiso and Kaiyo were the first pair in the newly developed Setai, which is often referred to as the "Prime Matings". However Kaiso saw Kaiyo's determination for Science and asked her permission if she wanted a child yet. Kaiyo, being at an important point in her career didn't want one just yet. In normal traditional culture the male usually decides when the females are to bear children, however it has become more common for the female to decide on who’s turn it is in the Setai’s sequence. At age Ten Kaiyo came to Kaiso with an unusual request. The USS Bridage was in orbit of Glayos and she had been working closely with their Chief Science Officer. Kaiyo asked special permission to leave Glayos and join Starfleet on her own Scientific Adventure. It took several days for it to be finalised and for Kaiyo and Kaiso to think. Eventually the Glacet government allowed Kaiyo join Starfleet to serve as a Science Officer, in order for Glayos to receive the same scientific information and discoveries that she discovered or came across. The idea is that Kaiyo goes out with Starfleet and then Starfleet share their science with the Glacet civilization. Kaiyo saw this as a great opportunity to explore the universe and to be important to her people. Therefore she accepted the terms, and the terms set by her Setai, Kaiso. His terms are that whenever she needs to bear her children to maintain the bond between the Setai, she should return to Glayos and accept her role as a female, but only when the Bond can no longer be maintained. With those tucked under her arm Kaiyo was off and spent the next eighteen months working aboard the USS Bridgade as a Science Officer. Due to her ability to naturally learn fast she soon became a very good Science Officer and Starfleet Saw her potential to becoming a very fast and capable science officer. Kaiyo was asked if she wanted to work on a project. One that would enrich her curiosity, potentially help her people with their own sciences and to enable more knowledge. Plus giving her a challenge, she accepted and was reassigned to The USS Hyperion. |
