ON:

Once the meeting with the XO was concluded, and he had given out some assignments in engineering, Divaro decided to pay a visit to the ship's lounge. When he walked in, the first person he noticed was a tall, willowy, absolutely gorgeous Trill woman. Quickly making his way over to where she was, he introduced himself.

"Hi, I'm Daniel Divaro, newly arrived Chief Engineer..." he said. "Mind if I join you?"

Élan looked up from the Padd she had been reading and smiled towards the engineer who had approached her. She could guess why he had asked to join her; she got offers from males and even females all the time. She could feel Val’s humor through their link. The symbiont was often amused by other species and their mannerisms.

“Sure, have a seat,” she said with a warm smile as she set her Padd down and took a sip of her tea. At least the replicators on the Hyperion were working correctly. She had only needed to tweak the programming once in order to get a decent sweet green tea.

“I’m Élan Val,” she said after Daniel had sat down.

"A pleasure to meet you, Lieutenant..." he said, extending his hand to her. "And at the risk of sounding cliche', what's a girl like you doing on a ship like this?" He realized that, up close, she was even more beautiful that he'd originally thought. And she had a pair of beautiful brown eyes that he felt like he could get lost in. "So how did you come to be aboard the good ship Hyperion?"

“I requested to be assigned to a Luna class ship when I graduated from the Academy, but there’s always a waiting list and they really want people who have a little bit of field experience. Granted, Trills sometimes have loads of experience,” Élan said with a gentle laugh. She realized that he was staring, so she leaned forward and smiled. She was actually wearing her uniform, since she hadn’t had time to unpack her clothing since she had been aboard the Hyperion.

"Well I came from a Norway-class which is considerably smaller than this ship," he said. "I know how to get from my quarters to main engineering and to here. Other than that, I still have to ask the computer for directions." He couldn't help but gaze into her eyes as she had leaned in closer to him. "You have the most beautiful brown eyes..." he said, then immediately clapped his hand over his mouth. "Oops...did I say that out loud?" he asked

It was an obvious chat-up line and he waited to see what her reaction was.

Élan smiled and turned to face the engineering officer. Giving her best and sweetest, not to mention her most charming, smile, she swung a leg over Daniel’s legs and sat down in his lap to where she was facing him while straddling him. Hooking her heels into the rail that ran around the base of his chair, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Through her link with Val, she could sense the symbiont’s amusement as events began to unfold.

“So, you like my eyes, do you?” Élan asked.

"I most certainly do," Daniel said with a smile. "Among other things," he added as slipped his arms around her waist. He let his eyes travel over her, definitely liking what he saw. Tall and full-figured--just the way he liked 'em. "So tell me--are you normally this friendly at a first meeting?" he asked. "Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm not complaining at all. And originally I'd intended to buy you a drink--but a welcome like this should include dinner and dancing as well if you're interested..."

“Well, unfortunately my break is almost over, so dinner and dancing will have to wait until later,” Élan said as she leaned closer and smiled. She almost hated to tease the chief engineer this much, but he had technically asked for it by initiating the flirting. She had simply flirted back.

“So, I hope you can wait until later, and I definitely hope you’re a good cook,” the Trill said as she pulled back a little.

"Oh, I can wait..." he said as he released his hold on her, purposely allowing his hands to lightly brush the curves of her hips as he did so. "Because something tells me the wait might definitely be worth it," he added with a smile. "As for being a good cook, I would have to leave that to your judgment. But at the least, I know my way around a replicator."

“Well, then, I expect an invitation sometime,” Élan said with a smile before she leaned in close again, this time seductively placing her lips against his and nipping lightly with her teeth before she leaned back and slid to her feet, her Padd in hand. Stepping back, she smiled warmly, trying to ignore her wrist watch as it started beeping, reminding her that her break was over.

“That’s so you’ll remember me by until the next time,” she said before she turned and started towards the door.

"I think it would be a long time indeed before I ever forget you..." he said, as he watched the sway of her hips as she walked away. Then, reaching up and touching where she had nipped him, the thought came to his mind 'If she's like that in public, what would she be like privately?' At this point, he didn't know--but he would be damned if he didn't find out.
