Mission: Ghost of a Chance: Epilogue
Location: S'klar Station, Lounge/Bar Area
Timeline: Sometime After: Judgement at S'klar Station

ON:

Smoak walked into the lounge/bar area of the Station. Almost immediately it was like an old western. His entrance attracted many eyes and shady looks from a majority of the Romulans. Unlike the old movies, it didn't fall silent, but the tension was very strong. He stood there for a moment and looked around, until finally finding what he was looking for. Familiar faces in a crowd of strangers.

A bit of a smile formed on his face, but he quickly hid it behind a stern look. He took a moment to situate himself before walking over to the table. As he approached the table, snaking through the slight crowd, he could hear the familiar voices hit his ear. The familiar sounds of 'Mac' telling one of his many stories. Mac was like one of those old officers who had a tale for every situation, and sometimes, it took while to get to the point. However, each story was captivating, and they never grew old. As Smoak approached, their eyes met, and immediately he was hit with a smile from the old man. As Mac stood up, the two finally embraced, and the stern look faded away.

"Jason." Mac said happily as he brought him in for a tight embrace. "Good to see you, My Boy."

"Hey Mac." Smoak replied softly before pulling away a bit and smiling. "You look good, Old Man."

"And you're still a liar." Mac said firmly, tapping Jason on the side of the face, before placing both hands on his shoulders. "But thank you for the compliment."

"Hey Jay." A soft, and familiar, voice soon hit his ears. The woman stood up and immediately hugged Jason as he turned to face her.

Smoak smiled, burying his face in the woman's red hair, before pulling away to look at her. He placing his hands on the side of her face, his thumb rubbing against the old Borg implant. It was a scar from an old, and hopefully forgettable, memory. One he didn't want to relive and was happy it was over. "Caitlin... you look great." He said softly.

"Thank for the invitation. Dad was getting bored." Caitlin replied before laughing.

"I was not bored. I was finding things to do." Mac replied firmly as he sat back down in his seat.

Caitlin looked over Jason's shoulder, to her father, and said. "You were getting ready to pull apart the replicator."

"It was making a noise." Mac replied with a smirk.

Smoak smiled, looking over to Mac before focusing back on Caitlin. "Your dad has a hard time sitting still, Cait, and we wouldn't have him any other way." He hugged her again before pulling away. "Good to see you're doing better."

"When you're my age, be happy you still have a desire to move." Mac said, adding a bit of a chuckle.

Smoak laughed before turning to face another old friend, one he didn't think was going to show up. As the large Caitian stood up from his chair, and crossed his arms, Jason couldn't help but wonder if he had gotten bigger. He nodded his head slightly and said "Kroaw"

Kroaw stared sternly at Jason until finally smiling, allowing a soft purr to escape, before extending his clawed hand.

Smoak extended his own hand, finally smiling, as he took a hold of the Caitian's forearm. Kroaw gripped Jason's forearm and they both gripped tightly. It wasn't enough to cause pain, although with Kroaw it could have been, but it was more of a friendly show of respect. Although the Caitian never spoke, it wasn't difficult to figure out what message he was trying to get across. He was great at following directions and was always good for a show of strength every once and a while.

"I can tell he missed you." Caitlin said with a giggle.

"Feeling is mutual." Smoak replied before taking a seat. "Where is Fyre?"

"So, let me get this straight? Romulan Ale is a no no for us or every Starfleet Officer." Shouted Fyre as he started to walk back.

"Nevermind." Smoak replied before smiling. "I found Waldo."

Fyre made his way back to the table with a tray of drinks and placed them down. "Alright, drinks are around." He said loudly before removing a glass from the tray and placing it in front of Caitlin. "Juice for the lady."

"Thank you, Good sir." Caitlin replied.

"You're welcome." Fyre bowed his head before removing another glass, placing it on the table in front of Mac. "Prune Juice for the old man."

"Hey." Mac shouted slight with a smirk.

"Just kidding." Fyre replied before nudging him. "It's scotch, Old Man. Drink it in bad health." He chuckled along with Mac, who picked up the glass and smiled as he removed a mug from the tray and placed it in front of Kroaw. "They didn't have cream, Kro, so I got you Tea."

Kroaw narrowed his eyes at Fyre while taking the mug in his clawed hand and taking a sip. He nodded his approval, not letting go of his shifty gaze.

"And coffee for Smoak." Fyre said as he put the coffee down in front of his friend. "Because... Smoak always gets coffee." He laughed a bit before sitting down and placing his own glass on the table, setting the tray on the floor.

"And what are you drinking?" Caitlin asked with a smirk, as if she didn't already know.

"I tried to get Romulan Ale, but they refused to give me a bottle."

"A bottle?" Smoak said with a raised brow.

"Yeah. I wanted to bring some back on board but they refused." Fyre said firmly before adding. "It's because I was a Starfleet Officer."

"And it's illegal... for us." Caitlin added.

Fyre looked over to her and smirked. "Hence why I insisted. Where else are you going to get actual Romulan Ale for a fair price?"

"There is something wrong with you." Smoak said with a smirk.

"So you keep telling me." Fyre replied with a smile then continued. "So then they offered me Kanar... and you know that's not my style... and kinda speciest if you think about it. Like really think about it."

Smoak smirked and said. "But you're half Cardassian."

Fyre smirked and replied. "And half Bajorian, so I am constantly at war with myself." He added a wink to Caitlin, who laughed out loud, before continuing. "So... I asked for something even a Romulan would understand."

"Which was?" Mac asked.

"Vulcan Brandy." Fyre answered with a smile.

"You hate Vulcan Brandy." Smoak said with a laugh.

"And I refuse to let the bartender think he got the better of me." Fyre said as he raised his glass and looked to the Bartender, as if toasting to him, before taking a drink. He nearly gagged before putting the glass down and continuing. "Why do I do this to myself?" He said with a slightly horsed voice.

Caitlin placed her hand on his shoulder and laughed softly, shaking her head, before saying. "Because your an idiot."

"Touche." Fyre replied with a soft and slightly painful chuckle before placing his hand on Smoak's shoulder and saying. "Dearly beloved... we are gathered here today because Jason Smoak needs out help. For what? I don't know, but its complicated, apparently."

Jason sat there and cleared his throat, prepared to tell the only people he trusted, what was going on. Slowly, he explained his dealings with the Captain, his Ex and current XO, and the incident with the Romulan Pirate. Slowly, he saw each of their faces shift from concerned, to surprise, and finally resting on understanding.

When it was all said and done they nodded their head, knowing what they were up against, and confident that they were more there for him then for what was going on. They had no idea what would unfold next but they knew they would stick together and play it by ear. Jason saw them as his closet friends. His 'Ohana and there was no reason why any of that would have changed.
