Mission:
Ghost of a Chance: Epilogue
Location: Smoak's Quarters
Timeline: Before: Judgement at S'klar Station
ON:
Jason sat at the table in his quarters. The last couple of days he didn't feel like himself. He felt himself being paranoid, questioning everyone else around him, like he couldn't trust them. It was nerve racking and unlike him. Ever since he got on this ship. Ever since he saw Jayde on board. This couldn't continue. He had to get back to being himself. He had to get back to doing his job properly.
He placed his empty glass on the table and slid it forward, placing it by the bottle of whiskey, before getting up. Jason knew what he had to do. Since he was having trouble trusting those around him, he was going to have to surround himself with those he could trust, those he knew would always have his back. It was time to get the band back together.
Smoak made his way to his computer and began to tap the console, bringing up former contacts, and sending messages forward on hunt for the one person he needed. After a couple of hours, and a few more glasses, he finally got a reply of a location where to find him. He began to tap the console to begin his communication, but stopped once he came to the last key, almost questioning if this was a good idea. The more he debated on the past events the more he realized this was important. Finally, finished tapping and communication request began.
The channel soon connected and the person other end wasn't who he thought it was. It was a Klingon woman who appeared partially clothes.
"Umm.... I'm sorry." Jason said quickly, unsure of what was going on. Did he get the wrong location? "I'm looking for Bodrin Fyre? He wouldn't happen to be there, would he?"
The woman gave him an irritated look. Maybe not. Jason couldn't tell. Finally she looked off screen and shouted something in Klingon before walking away. He just raised a brow and waited. Soon a much more familiar face approached the screen. "Who are you and what do you want with Bodrin Fyre?" The man said without looking at the screen.
"First, I'm not gonna bother asking about the Klingon woman." Jason replied.
Bodrin finally looked at the screen and smirked. "Smoak!"
"Fyre." Jason replied with a smile.
"How the hell are you, brother?" Bodrin sat down in the chair in front of the console and leaned back. "I heard you couldn't stay away and went back to work... and judging by the uniform... that rumor was true."
Jason nodded his head before saying. "Yup, took a Chief of Security and Tactical position, on board the Hyperion. Luna Class."
"Niiiice." Bodrin replied with a nodded. "Suits you, brother." He said with a smile before turning his head and shouting something in Klingon. "You wouldn't catch me back in uniform." Bodrin laughed before looking back.
"Funny you should say that." Jason said before letting a soft laugh slip from his lips. "I need your help, Fyre."
Bodrin raised a brow, leaning forward slightly, before remaining there quietly. He crossed his arms over his chest before asking. "What's up, Jay? You need me to make a few calls and bust some heads?" He held out his hand as the Klingon woman returned back into the shot, placing a drink in his hand, before walking away again. Bodrin seemed concerned. Smoak was on a Starship surrounded by other officers and a security force at his finger tips, what could he possibly need help with.
"It's complicated." Jason replied before adding. "Which is why I was wondering how you would feel about getting back into uniform?"
Bodrin took a sip and nearly choked on his drink. He coughed slightly before looking at Jason curiously. It must have been serious. Jason was the one who insisted they all got away from the job and relaxed, more Bodrin than anyone else. Now he was trying to pull his old partner back because of trouble. Without anymore hesitation Bodrin replied with a firm "Where and when?"
"Are you-"
Before Jason could finish the question Bodrin interrupted. "You need me. I'm there, brother. What's there to question?"
Jason smirked, nodding his head, for a moment forgetting the reason why he needed him around in the first place. "Thanks, brother."
"That's what Oh-Hala is about, right?" Bodrin replied with a smirk.
Jason smiled. "You mean, 'Ohana (Family)."
"Yeah..." Bodrin said with a raised brow, removing the glass from his lips. "What did I say?"
"I don't ever think what you said was a word." Jason said as he let out a bit of a chuckle.
Bodrin put his glass down and said "You knew what I meant and that's all that matters." He crossed his arms again and continued. "So... just give me a location of where to meet you and I will do what I need to do on my end to speed things along."
"You can meet us at S'klar Station and you're not coming alone." Jason replied firmly, happy that this was easier than he thought it was. He was starting to feel better. Knowing that Bodrin was gonna be on board, and having his back, was uplifting as well as putting him at ease.
"S'klar? Sounds Romulan." Bodrin replied, taking a drink, before putting it down and realizing the rest of what Jason had said. "Wait... what do you mean you're not coming alone?"
"It's Romulan, and yes, I need you to bring the old man with you as well as anyone you can find from the old group."
"I'll do what I can." Bodrin replied before asking. "Why are we meeting at a Romulan station?"
Jason smiled a bit before replying. "It's part of the complication. I'll do my best to explain what I can when you get here. You aren't afraid of a little Romulan's are you?" He joked before adding. "Just bring your girlfriend along."
"She's not my girlfriend." Bodrin said before slipping in. "She's just who I brought home tonight."
Jason raised a brow and shook his head. "There is something wrong with you."
Bodrin nodded his head. "Duh... I'm part Cardassian. I use that as an excuse for everything I can't explain." He added a bit of a laugh before finishing. "I'll get started as soon as I get off this channel with you." He said before turning his head and shouting something in Klingon.
Jason nodded his head. "Thanks, brother. I really-" He soon stopped noticing something fly passed Bodrin's head and slam into something glass on the other side. "What the hell?!"
"Apparently, she isn't ready to go home." Bodrin replied softly as they could both make out yelling in the back ground.
"Are you gonna be okay?"
Bodrin nodded. "Sure... I think. She's Klingon. Either she's mad at me or she wants another go." He said before shouting something back in Klingon, only to duck to avoid another object fly his way.
"Well... which one is it?" Jason asked, concerned but also slightly amused.
He threw something back, while shouting in Klingon, before easing back to the console. "We'll soon find out. Later." Bodrin said before cutting the channel in mid Klingon shout.
Jason sat there laughing. So much so he leaned his head back and just burst out loudly, almost bringing him to tears. He wasn't surprised at what had happened with Bodrin, it was certainly in his character, but it never failed to bring him to laughter. Having him on board would be quite and treat, and certainly, help Jason get back on track. Although, he might not be able to get everyone back, having Fyre in his corner was more than enough.
