New Beginnings

"Captain's personal log, Captain John Theisman. It's been seven months since the Hyperion was first reported missing, and the shock of the news is still there. I've managed to talk the Romulans into keeping a scout ship out looking for another month or so, but Starfleet has long given up. Both Starfleet Command and the Romulan Empire have agreed to continue the terms of the joint exploration treaty, under the condition that I command the Starfleet ship again. Starfleet Command has agreed and had recommissioned an Intrepid class starship that is in the final fitting out stages at Utopia Planitia as the new Hyperion. I will arrive there in one week. From the reports I've been given, the chief engineer is already on board. The rest of the crew have yet to arrive, but the ship won't be ready to depart for another three weeks. Until I arrive, I'll have to hope that the crew already on board have things in hand. I guess I'll find out in a week.
