360 words; about a 2 minute read
Mission:
Ghost of a Chance: Epilogue
Location: Library section USS Hyperion.
ON
The lights were at standard rating, no one was loitering about as he was taking his stack of pads that needed processing, he had taken care of the hard cover books upon the shelves. Civilian Swampy Marsh moved about the Ship's Library making sure the shelves are stocked and rotating the book about. He had completed the rounds and the three remaining padds that were not pertaining to the book collection upon his shelves. He had been moving with the song in his ears; playing from the vast collection of songs he had sang and played over his lifetime. Each and everyone had some influence upon his whole body rhythm at any given time
"I love you madly madly my Star ship... Hyperion" He said as he took the first of the pads ; scrolled to the approval phase and put a thumb to it in time with the little ditty he had in his head.
Reading the next bit of the information relayed to the Library he was tapping two stylists in time with the rhythm of the song in his head; taking the scrolling to the Security Protocol acknowledgement.
"Its a lost cause that I can never win..." He double tapped the security protocol; his own special setting to secure them.
The Data from that padd was placed into the secure data into the specialized Mobile Data Bank for the Security of the Hyperion. The auto dump with security coding transferred without indecent leaving an empty Data PADD that he moved back and forth like a DJ playing a reverb record on a turntable before sliding it aside.
"Any talking out loud with this Librarian..." He went to the last of the three padds and scanned the information quickly, one hand still tapping the imagined snare drum while his foot added the Base Drum in time.
"Such as Marsh... Hyperion's Librarian..."
With that he had done his task for this hour; taking the leather bound volume on the desk near the computer console he sat back and decded to read with the song lulling him to relax from the back of his head.
